Interactive wall lighting provides innovative lighting effects

What can be done when customers place no limits on a designer's creativity? This interactive wall lighting was installed at the entrance of an office building. Fun, original, and practical, the project could also be installed in pubs, bars, and cafes. The inspiration came from the wallpaper at the office entrance, whose stripes create the perfect backdrop for the lighting effects. Struct is software designed so that multiple patterns can be projected onto the wall. The wall was recorded with two video projectors. Distortions that usually occur when projecting onto uneven surfaces were removed with mapping and masking software. This creates the impression that the light and video effects flow across the angles. Several lines in different colors remain in constant motion and make the room look futuristic. Thanks to this program, the video wall can become interactive and respond to visitor movement.

Installing futuristic wall lighting as art

One of the most fascinating aspects of this art installation is its multifunctionality. Almost any wall can be transformed into an interactive platform. The recorded wall can be used for a corporate event, a wedding, or simply a party. At night in particular, the system draws attention to itself, which can be especially useful for shops and restaurants.

Struct Studio specializes in lighting for exhibitions and office celebrations. Graphic design and interactive LED walls are at the center of its projects. The five founders met in 2002. Shortly afterward, they began publishing a design magazine. The initiative was a success and led to the creation of a design studio in 2007. Since then, their popularity has grown, and today they have partnered with many cultural events and business projects. The Struct Studio design project was awarded the Prix du Design.
