Introducing the incredible "Super Heroes" seating series, designed by Swedish design studio Glimpt for Cappellini. The beautiful collection consists of multifunctional chairs, armchairs, stools, and wire lampshades with interesting geometric patterns in bright colors. The idea for this unusual design furniture was born after a trip to Vietnam.
Furniture design with an interesting optical effect
Glimpt designers Mattias Rask and Tor Palm visited many local artists and artisans in Vietnam to learn traditional craft techniques and experiment with new materials and colors. The production of small sea-grass bowls served as inspiration for this furniture design, with wire tied around a metal frame and fixed in place. Colorful hammocks sold on the street also inspired the designers’ patterns. Illustrator Malin Koort helped develop the colorful patterns for the seats.
Exclusive furniture design inspired by Vietnam
The furniture design by Glimpt combines tradition, Western trends, unpretentious elegance, and functionality. The seats can also be used as low coffee tables. The Super Heroes series features a simple Scandinavian silhouette and a soft, smooth surface.

Glimpt designers are interested in history and try to successfully reproduce the aesthetics of specific traditional crafts. Different cultures, countries, and traditions are reflected in their work. In collaboration with artists from around the world, the meeting of modern design and traditional craft creates special art objects that can tell long stories.
