This fabulous DIY idea for a memo board is fairly easy to make and has both practical and decorative value. Follow the simple instructions and create a framed board where you can attach business cards and other important notes.
Memo board supplies – materials and tools
To create this memo board yourself you will need the following materials: a frame with hardware, fiberboard cut 5 cm wider than the frame opening, elastic in different colors, assorted buttons with holes, knitting yarn and needles, a stapler, a needle, and floss twice as long as the board.
DIY memo board – step by step
The first step in making the memo board is to cut the yarn. Cut two pieces the same size as the board. Then cut the fabric so it is exactly 5 cm wider than the fiberboard.
Step two
To make the memo board, attach the fabric to the fiberboard with a stapler. Staple the fabric on the back of the board and pull it as smooth as possible so there are no wrinkles.
The third step
Then it's time for the elastic bands. Choose bands in any color that suits the fabric and the frame. First, stretch two bands from opposite corners of the board so they cross each other.
Step Four
The next step in preparing the memo board is to secure the bands. Use the needle to fasten them about 10 cm apart, creating a diamond-shaped pattern.
Step Five
After covering the board with elastic bands, secure them to the edge of the fiberboard with a stapler so the structure is stable.
Sixth step
The memo board can also serve as a decoration, so it is worth adding a few decorative details. Use buttons in different sizes and colors, sewing them at the intersections of the elastic bands.
Step Seven
