London-based design studio TILT has created an original reading chair design that is especially suited to reading and relaxing. The Quiet Chair was designed during a co-design workshop with support from patients and staff at Whittington Hospital in London. Privacy was carefully considered throughout the design.
Pentagonal wooden reading chair design

Its robust, compact pentagonal shape forms a cocoon, helping each user feel sheltered and safe. Separated from others in a protected personal space, you can read a book, listen to music, or simply sit in silence. This design is a clever reading chair with a semi-enclosed form. The half-open shell adapts to the shape of the chair while keeping the sitter comfortable.

Wherever this piece of furniture is placed, it offers privacy. It is easy to move and, depending on the need, can be used as a small booth or as an armchair.
