We present an excellent project in Japan: a garden house with a minimalist design shaped by an open, inventive combination of concrete and wood.
House with Garden and a Generous Living Room
House with garden was designed by Baum Style Architect. The brief was to create a new home for a young couple who wanted a modern facade and a large living area where they could spend time together. Because they often welcome friends and family, the plan also needed to provide enough space for guests while still giving the family a relaxed private atmosphere. The architects designed a creative one-story house with an attic, guided by minimalist principles. The main room brings together the living area, dining area, kitchen, and entry functions, while subtle dividers separate each zone visually. A floating staircase leads up to the second floor, where a compact room sits beneath the roof.
House with Garden Combines Minimalist and Traditional Architecture
The house with garden stands out through its careful choice of materials. The structure combines wood, concrete, and glass. Thanks to its sloping roof, the house sits comfortably within its surroundings, where neighboring homes follow a more traditional architectural language with gabled roofs. The white front wall creates a visual connection between inside and outside. The ceiling is the highlight: exposed wooden beams divide the overhead plane, while large windows at both ends of the living room bring abundant light into the interior.
