28/02/2013 – Casa MTY a project by the firm BGP Arquitectura, is located in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico. It sits on a 10,000-square-meter wooded site subject to strict environmental-protection requirements.
The residence is developed as a series of differently shaped volumes whose edges respond to the surrounding vegetation, drawing inspiration from Mexico’s rocky subsoil.
Each volume is designed separately and independently, with a combination of materials that distinguishes the different geometries: travertine, concrete, wood, glass, and Cor-Ten steel.
The composition is arranged on an orthogonal grid that avoids compromising the forested area. The buildings are interconnected by a promenade of glass corridors and hallways.
