All the usual features of a chest of drawers were reinterpreted by Shay Alkalay in the design of Stack. A conventional chest of drawers usually has an outer frame, a back panel and separate drawers with runners. The height of each drawer is limited by the frame, and a drawer can normally be opened in only one direction. Stack, a designer chest of drawers, escapes these formal limits through a completely new arrangement. Its colorful floating drawers use a frame mounted in the center.

The stacked tower of drawers can be pushed and pulled in either direction. The random, irregular pattern created by the position of the drawers produces a rich display of color and dynamic form. This creative chest of drawers by the designer can be described both as a sculptural object and as a fully functional, practical piece of furniture.

Manufactured by Established & Sons, the colorful dresser is available in two standard sizes, three color palettes, and MDF or plywood. The three palettes are red, green and neutral. You can choose between 8 or 13 drawers; either version immediately draws attention. The tower of drawers is a playful challenge to what such a simple piece of furniture can be.
