Every child dreams of his own tree house – a realm to play and quiet place for reading. If you want to build a tree house for the kids in your own garden, you must consider many things. That’s why we’ve put together some tips to help you build the tree, which can help you in this cool project.
Build a tree house for children – Select a location
First, you should look around the garden, for the perfect tree. Oak, maple, beech, pine or a strong old apple tree with a thick trunk – at least 40 cm on average. Make sure the tree has a lot of large branches, but also relatively close to the ground. The platform should be about a meter above the ground and secured with 75 cm high railings. The distance between the bars should be no more than 10 centimeters. The stairway at the entrance is particularly important to avoid accidents when racing up and down. Either build a stable staircase or attach a ladder with railing. Secure a soft landing by covering the ground at the bottom of the ladder with gravel, sand or mulch.

The bottom panel should be made from solid hardwood boards that are very sturdy and durable. Ideally, you can use larch wood in the construction. All wood panels should be cut to size, sanded and finished with a wood stain. The platform can be mounted either between two trees or only on a tree, but secured with stilts. If the floor and walls are finished, the roof is easily constructed. It does not have to be a solid roof. Sometimes a light fabric cover and the dense treetop would be enough. Build cool gaming opportunities such as swings from car tires, rope bridges, and slides, which will increase the fun. Let the children decorate the house themselves.
