The camping hostel is aimed at young travelers, backpackers, school groups, and anyone looking for an unusual way to visit Bonn. Hotelier Michael Schloesser’s idea has drawn attention well beyond the city. In a 1,600-square-meter indoor space, BaseCamp creates the feel of a small campground, complete with heating and protection from bad weather.

Guests can enjoy an unusual stay in Bonn’s Dottendorf district, close to the city’s museums and the Rheinaue leisure park. The restored vehicles are compact, cleverly arranged, and full of playful charm. There is enough space to sleep, relax, and share the indoor camping atmosphere. Shared bathrooms and showers are available, and BaseCamp can host groups as well as individual travelers.
