We present Clifton Road House – a very interesting house with glass designed by AR Design Studio. This unusual dwelling stands in the middle of Winchester, England. The street facade of the house is relatively restrained, but the rear elevation is spectacular in the best sense of the word.
Renovated house with glass walls – Clifton Road House

This modern building with glass walls actually dates from 1860 and covers four floors. Originally the rear had a comfortable balcony with a metal railing; now the back of the home features a glass wall that creates a striking visual effect. The full-height glazing lets in plenty of light.

The renovation project by AR Design Studio was completed in September 2011. The goal was to integrate a glass extension into the living room so the owners could enjoy breathtaking city views. Additional storage space was created as well. Although very narrow, the glass house in Winchester offers maximum comfort.

The ground floor is open plan and includes a kitchen and living room with modern equipment. The interior design was created by AR Design Studio in a minimalist style. The rooms are kept in floor-to-ceiling white or neutral tones. Individual wooden elements add comfort and warmth to the living room.
