A modern house with a wooden facade on the outskirts of Hermosillo, Mexico was completed in 2015 by Imativa Arquitectos. The project, called R35, presents an exciting architectural mix of minimalist design principles and the region's traditional architecture.

The R35 house with a wooden facade covers an area of 665 square meters. The two-story building has a clear structural volume that opens to the surroundings through a generously glazed facade. Because neighboring houses are close by, privacy was essential, so the architects added wooden shutters. They shield the home from unwanted views while providing excellent sun protection.
Behind the elegant facade is a modern eclectic interior. The furnishings are simple but elegant: a gray corner sofa and wooden wall units in the living room, a fitted kitchen with wooden doors and a kitchen island with a black marble worktop, and a king-size bed in the bedroom. Exotic decorative pieces add character throughout the home. Colorful paintings adorn the hallway walls, a turquoise carpet brings a touch of color to the living room, and floral wallpaper creates a romantic atmosphere in the bedroom.
All rooms overlook the large courtyard with its pool and lawn. Here the family can relax after a long week of work and spend evenings with friends. When summer temperatures rise, the owners can cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool.
