The Contemporary Classic Design of A Young Designer, A Sicilian in Milan

26/04/2018 – Contemporary and classic elements coexist in this installation and influence each other at the same time. This is the world of Marco de Vincenzo, a young Sicilian designer who lives and works between Rome and Milan.

Inside the famous Larusmiani boutique, working within strict constraints and without altering the existing space, designers Leandro Favaloro & Martina Lucatelli with Salocchi Studio chose, identified, and merged the space through simple, self-contained scenic elements. These consist of glossy red-oxide lacquered monochrome panels with matte black lacquered metal frames.

Large and contemporary, the setting significantly enhances the versatility of Marco de Vincenzo’s clothes and accessories. First among its elements is a huge floral rug derived from a fabric in the latest collection.

The project is enriched by a careful, delicate selection of furniture and objects that contribute to the dialogue between the staging and the Sicilian designer’s creations: an antique capital, a terracotta amphora, a plaster drawing, a BBPR daybed, a Hoffmann chair with two wings, an old German vintage wooden table with cast iron, and finally modern armchairs and coffee tables.
