The designers at Fabrica have created an exceptional collection in collaboration with Tai Ping, a leading company for hand-knotted carpets. The designers surprise with creative design ideas that connect the carpet from floor to wall. The exhibition was presented in Paris at a textile fair.
Modern carpet design inspired by nature

Nature served as the source of inspiration: the carpets were decorated with motifs such as rain, fallen trees and waterfalls. The new models present an imaginative future of carpet design: they are more like furniture or decorative objects than simple carpets. Fabrica designers visited the Tai Ping factory and learned about the production processes in detail. There they prepared their sketches. The partially vertical positioning was a challenge, mainly because of the weight of the carpets. But nothing is impossible at Tai Ping, and the bold design ideas were quickly implemented. The result of their collaboration with the company's experienced staff speaks for itself.
Carpet design or decoration?

The futuristic design ideas for carpet show a perfect harmony between nature and human creativity. Even at the entrance to the exhibition space, visitors were impressed by two interesting carpets. They look more like curtains and are decorated with striking green patterns. The effect is fascinating: the carpets look like greenery on a facade. The highlight of the exhibition was inside: a rug that mimics a waterfall. It was made with great attention to detail; the changing blue tones of the water create an optical illusion of three dimensions.
