Tokyo: No Ads, A World Without Advertising

Imagine a world without advertising. In the age of consumption, it is truly difficult, but French designer Nicolas Damiens, through the project "Tokyo No Ads", shows what would happen in Tokyo if all signs, posters, brands, and slogans suddenly disappeared. The project consists of a series of moving images showing before and after views of a city known for being saturated with advertising, where signs have become an integral part of the urban landscape. Stripped bare, Tokyo becomes unrecognizable, sometimes almost without identity. The experiment shows how deeply advertising remains part of everyday life.
