The distinctive Villa F by Hornung & Jacobi Architects is a 220 m2 house designed for a young couple. The architects also included a separate room for guests.

The prefabricated wooden structure makes sense for the weather conditions on the Rhodes coast. Photovoltaic panels on the roof provide the home with self-sufficient energy. A stone wall frames the path to the sea and is harmoniously integrated into the villa’s design. The entrance is beneath the house, cut into the stone wall, and roof windows with built-in lights illuminate the way home. The wood is covered in white plaster, which is possible because temperatures do not fall below zero and because the modern luxury villa can be heated and cooled quickly.

Hornung & Jacobi Architects developed a range of natural cooling mechanisms that reduce the house’s overall energy consumption. An opening in the roof creates a mechanical cooling effect. Evaporation from the pool can also help regulate the microclimate. Triangular photovoltaic panels provide the household energy. This beautiful design is not only modern, but also environmentally friendly.
