Architecture

Gabriela Riviera Architects were challenged to build a one-story house on a triangular plot. The starting point and inspiration for the project was an avocado tree growing in the center of the site. From that came the idea of planning the house around the tree. In this way, the building creates several courtyards and orchards, letting nature take the lead role in the modern architecture. The design of the house and the multifunctional, light-filled interior combine beautifully. The generously glazed facade opens the building and offers impressive views of the landscape.

The G1 House sends a clear message to the world of architecture: nature and architecture can work together. The building is composed of several volumes. The main spine divides the house into two sections: the first contains the living room and kitchen, while the second houses the bathroom, closets, and laundry facilities. Inside, the walls are painted white and paired with wooden furniture in the traditional country style of the region. Comfortable, well lit, and surrounded by green spaces where residents can relax, House G1 is carefully planned.
