"Brooklin House" is a modern house on a narrow lot in São Paulo, Brazil. The plot is only 5.5 meters wide and 33 meters long. This private home, a project by Galeria Arquitetos, was completed in 2008. It is located on a quiet residential street in São Paulo and backs onto Hípica Paulista. Because the building site was narrow and limited, the architects chose an open layout to create a flexible living space without visual barriers.

All living spaces flow seamlessly into one another and feel open and comfortable. The ground floor contains the living room, kitchen, and dining area. A distinctive shelving system made of concrete and wood was designed to serve all three spaces: shelves and a TV unit for the dining area, a fireplace for the living room, and counter and storage space for the kitchen. The red kitchen island is a beautiful accent that creates a pleasant atmosphere. From the kitchen, you can go directly into the courtyard, which is well protected, so you can grill and eat outside without feeling overlooked by the neighbors.

Opposite the large concrete bookcase, a staircase leads to the bedrooms upstairs. The stairwell is bright and spacious, with a glass roof that brings sunlight into the house. There is also access to the roof terrace, where residents can relax and enjoy views of the neighborhood greenery. Although the plot is narrow, the interior and exterior spaces were designed to feel generous and comfortable. The large sash windows on the facade, sliding glass doors to the backyard, skylights, and pure white interior palette all contribute to this seamless connection.
