29/08/2012 – Park House by Formwerkz is located in northeastern Singapore, overlooking a large park near the sea. It is a home for a middle-aged couple who often host guests.
The house is organized with the sleeping area on the lower level and the living area on the upper floor. Bedrooms are shaded and protected by the garden and surrounding walls, while the social rooms above connect ideally with the park.
The house’s defining feature is a 2-meter-wide concrete band that wraps around the entire upper floor and forms the roof over the entrance porch and car area. This cantilevered concrete ribbon shelters the house over the garden and shades the rooms on the ground floor.
