This small apartment is located in Hollywood, California and was designed by interior designer Funn Roberts. He makes the most of a small space and shows several smart tricks for compact living. The apartment measures 54 square meters, yet impresses with its style and intelligent layout. The surprise is that the owner of this “cabin loft” is Vincent Kartheiser of Mad Men.

The design combines Japanese and industrial influences, bringing old and new elements together artfully. Wood, steel and warm colors create a cozy atmosphere complemented by high-quality vintage furniture. The designer made excellent use of the small area and organized the living space efficiently. The room is divided into different levels, with a bed that lowers from the ceiling. Weighing 300 pounds, it can be raised to the ceiling or hidden behind a red curtain when necessary. The solid wood headboard blends perfectly with the rest of the furniture.

Another highlight is the open shower, paired with a striking sink and a natural-looking stone surface. Black tiles define the entire shower area. The bathroom and closet are hidden behind custom sliding doors inspired by Japanese fiberglass and steel panels. They glow beautifully at night when lit from behind.
