
If you have already decided on camping with a caravan and have bought or rented one, go through the following checklist before you leave and make sure every task is complete.

Use these important notes before heading to the caravan campsite.
– Turn off the gas system
– Empty the water tank and clean the toilet cassette
– Make sure all windows and doors are closed, and all drawers and cupboards in the caravan are secured
– Lower the jockey wheel
– Measure the nose weight
– Align the trailer hitch with the tow ball
– Remove the tow-ball cover
– Carefully reverse the car toward the caravan
– Attach the coupling to the tow ball
– Check that everything is secure by lifting the jockey wheel slightly
– Stow the jockey wheel
– Engage the stabilization system and make sure all cables are correctly connected
– Release the caravan handbrake
– Check once more that the trailer is securely attached to the car and that no obstacles are in the way
Caravan camping – procedure after arrival

Once you arrive for your caravan camping trip, it is time to disconnect the trailer and unpack the car. What exactly should you do next?
– Lower the jockey wheel
– Position the caravan on the pitch as desired, using leveling ramps if needed
– Engage the caravan handbrake
– Chock the trailer wheels if you are on a slope
– Adjust the height of the jockey wheel and fix it in position
– Unplug all cables from the car
– Release the coupling lever and use the jockey wheel to lift the caravan off the tow ball
– Drive the car away from the caravan
– Replace the tow-ball cap on the car
– Adjust the height and position of the caravan with the jockey wheel
