Wooden House in the Middle of the City
The client asked for a modern house that opens toward the view while using the site as efficiently as possible. Inspired by the beauty of the location, Wardle Architects created a building overlooking the sea. The extensive program is divided into three building volumes, and the wooden house is arranged in a U shape with a large window on the south side. On the north side, immediately adjacent to the road, wooden shutters protect the interior from prying eyes and from strong winter wind. The lightweight structure is made from stainless steel supports clad in wood, with additional walls that break up the glass facade. Because the owners enjoy outdoor living, the architects added a large balcony with glass balustrades. A small pool and comfortable terrace extend life outside and offer space to relax outdoors.

Inside, the wooden house reveals its modern beauty. Beach-inspired furnishings bring freshness to the lounge: azure upholstered furniture, a rustic table and several stools create a vivid color accent. The wood-and-marble kitchen shows a strong sense of style and a confident combination of modern materials. Smart room solutions make the most of the available space, with cabinets and shelves above the staircase providing plenty of storage. The interior highlight is the woven bamboo staircase.
