Breakfast on the terrace or drinks outdoors are easier with a sturdy tray. A wooden tray is practical, but sometimes it needs a little extra charm. Here is a simple DIY idea with step-by-step guidance on how to decorate an old serving tray with a sea glass mosaic.
Paste Plateau Sea Glass Mosaic

If you do not already have an old tray, you can usually find one at a flea market and turn it into something beautiful. The first step is to paint the wooden tray white. Then it is time for the sea glass. Its color, soft texture, and powdery surface reflect the light beautifully and bring to mind sea, sand, summer, and cool cocktails.

The materials needed are tile adhesive, white grout, a notched trowel, a grout float, and a sponge. Use the notched trowel to apply a thin layer of adhesive to a small section of the tray base, then comb through the adhesive. Fill all corners and edges, working in small sections. Press the pieces of sea glass into the adhesive and follow the instructions on the adhesive package.

Then it is time to add the grout. Spread a generous amount over the sea glass and work it into the joints. Do not forget to pack the grout into all the corners. Once the wooden tray is covered, scrape away the excess grout. Wipe the surface with a damp sponge until the sea glass begins to shine. Your sea glass mosaic tray is ready, and you can use it to serve cool drinks in the garden.
