Rather than hide the beautiful aesthetic of ceramic techniques commonly found in the textures and colors of oriental porcelain, designer Lin Wei-Teng has redefined the appearance of traditional vessels in a project entitled "Reborn". Eastern porcelain is usually decorated with complex and varied motifs. This collection of designer vases, however, creates a bridge between clay and metal with elegant metallic structures that embrace ceramic vases. The unglazed porcelain creates a beautiful contrast with the polished stainless steel, highlighting the soft, simple silhouettes of the designer vases.

The search for light volumes and shapes through product design gives rise to interesting forms and concepts in steel. In this design, the classic porcelain urn seems to float in the air, especially when photographed against a gray wall. The small vase is encased in a steel cage, which gives the design lightness and elegance. It is a modern, contemporary touch on ancient Greek and Oriental vessels.
