Ground and first floor delayed

The ground and first floors are offset from one another, giving the house a deliberately layered appearance. Different surfaces and shades of gray emphasize the effect, while the roof of the ground floor becomes a balcony for the upper level.

In 2014, the Royal Institute of British Architects recognized the house as one of Britain’s notable new homes and considered it for the Manser Medal, an annual award for outstanding one-off house design.
