Sea View House in Wellington

The owners are a family with children of different ages. This architecturally distinctive house overlooking the sea was designed by Parsonson Architects around the family's needs. The brief called for architecture that was both timeless and unconventional. The house is arranged over three levels, with comfortable living spaces, an indoor pool and areas where each family member can retreat.

Wood cladding and light green corrugated roofs reinforce the link with nature and create a harmonious picture from every perspective. The house with a view of the open sea faces east with a large glass area that extends to the ground floor. The living areas and kitchen are furnished simply and respond to individual needs. A few brightly colored accent pieces draw the eye.

This modern house overlooking the sea has a special charm. Light is an important design element: the large windows bring in plenty of daylight and frame beautiful views of Wellington Harbour and the Botanical Gardens.
