As well as exterior design, the interior also plays important role to determine a house style. The following project was handled by Meg Joannides from MLK Studio in collaboration with the architect, Hagy Belzberg of Belzberg Architects. Situated in Los Angeles, California, the project was aimed to create a complete interior design for a 10.000 square foot family home and a 2.000 square foot guesthouse. Meg Joannides also worked together with Boffi in order to finish the 10 bathrooms and main kitchen and guesthouse kitchen.
The interior is mostly furnished with custom made furniture from MLK Studio and fabricated in Los Angeles. Finished in neutral palette, the interior is skillfully presented in perfect depth and layers, offering a sophisticated design. Walnut hardwood flooring, bluestone counter tops, and bluestone walls are chosen in order to create a harmonization between indoor and outdoor. Meanwhile the kitchen is finished in palette of Calacatta marble and high gloss cabinetry. And the master bathroom is designed with Turkish limestone walls and flooring.
The materials selection, colors combination and furniture were chosen to fulfill the client’s aims. The Brentwood Residence is a modern house with boxed-like structure that is covered with large clear windows and doors, allowing enough sunlight to fill in the interior during the day. A wide swimming pool becomes the center piece of the outdoor area. Complemented with modern yet simple patio furniture, the terrace is a cozy spot for enjoying the rest of a day.
