Materials:
– An old lampshade
– Strips of balsa wood. The amount depends on the height and width of the shade; buy a little extra, because you will need more than you think. The balsa should be very thin and flexible.
– Glue gun and hot glue sticks
Instructions:
1. Wrap one strip around the top of the shade and another around the bottom.
2. Add two more strips, slipping their ends under the first bands. Curve the strips so there is a small gap between them and they do not lie completely flat against the shade.
3. Add more strips until the bottom of the lampshade is no longer visible.
4. Glue the ends in place so nothing slips or sticks out.
