A presentation area for receiving guests should feel open and welcoming while reflecting the company’s philosophy. Japanese architect Juko Nagayama recently unveiled this project in collaboration with landscape architect Toshiya Ogino, creating furniture that is both ultra-modern and highly functional for the office.
Office furniture inspired by nature
A respected skin-care company in Kobe asked Juko Nagayama to give its office furniture a fresh new presence. The beautiful nature surrounding the city inspired the design. The result is a minimalist interior strongly shaped by natural elements. The reception area is divided into several zones, visually separated by wooden screens, so each department can hold client meetings and presentations independently. Clever, space-saving furniture provides storage for portfolios and documentation. Layered finishes give the workspace a structured feel. Untreated concrete walls form a quiet backdrop, enlivened by wood accents and glass inserts.
Modern office design – concrete and wood define the interior
In the hall, the architects created a traditional Japanese-style rock garden and planted bonsai trees. The trees create a smooth connection between modern architecture and nature. The office furniture gains timeless charm from glass inserts, while floor-to-ceiling windows bring daylight deep into the interior.
With this project, the architects achieved a careful balance between tradition and modernity. Functional, comfortable, elegant, and original, the design gives the company a distinctive setting for work and presentation.
