Unique glass water carafe design
The transparent pitcher set by Andreas Trenker consists of stylized vessels generated with 3D parametric software. In South Tyrol, where the young designer is based, high-quality tap water is a benefit that is still available today. To promote tap-water consumption instead of buying plastic bottled water, Trenker created a unique water pitcher design in collaboration with Professor Kuno Prey of the Faculty of Design and Art at the Free University of Bolzano, Italy. Specific characteristics of each water source, such as pH, hardness, temperature, conductivity and altitude of origin, can be translated into different three-dimensional models. Thanks to their shape, the glass carafes sit well in the hand. The design pieces were shown at a design exhibition in Bologna from September 23 to 28, 2015.
