11/07/2012 – An elegant minimalist design creates a green oasis near Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui, Thailand: the project The Library, designed by Tirawan Songsawat . It is a resort that moves away from the monolithic layout of the traditional hotel, with 26 studio-style units scattered through lush vegetation.
The complex covers 6,400 square meters and sits among old trees that escaped the bulldozer. Each bungalow includes a ground-floor suite and an upper-floor studio with sea views.
Designed as an elegant retreat for guests, The Library’s interiors are characterized by a minimal style enlivened by bold color. Red and grey stand out against the white floors and walls, and the same chromatic play defines the project’s most representative elements: the pool and the library.
The restrained use of color allows daily life, the natural landscape, the beach, and the forest to remain the true focus, without unnecessary visual distractions.
