Space for nature and an ecology of living: even a carpet can be green. Here it accompanies a walk through the narrow streets of a remote village in the French countryside, like a true red carpet. The installation by Marseille artist Gaëlle Villedary runs through the streets of the medieval village of Jaujac.
A walking path made of 168 turf rolls symbolically and physically connects the inhabitants of Jaujac with one another and with the surrounding nature. A simple idea, and like any strong sign, it reminds us symbolically that life can be better even over cement and asphalt.
