The Live Screen by Danielle Trofe is a sustainable vertical garden designed to bring plants into interior spaces in a sculptural and practical way. The living partition supports plant growth, improves the atmosphere of a room, and turns greenery into a flexible element of interior design.
How Is The Vertical Garden Irrigated?
The project was inspired by existing vertical gardens and by the growing interest in integrating living systems into homes and public interiors. Unlike a fixed green wall, Live Screen has a sculptural character and can stand independently in a room.
Its irrigation system is based on hydroponics. Water is pumped from a reservoir in the lower part of the structure to the top planters, then distributed downward by gravity at set intervals. This controlled cycle helps each plant receive a consistent amount of water.
The lower reservoir is accessible through a cover with integrated LED lighting. Instead of soil, the hydroponic system uses growing media such as lava stone and coconut fiber, reducing mess and helping the plants stay healthy indoors.

A vertical garden can be used to grow herbs, flowers, and decorative plants even when floor space is limited. For private homes, offices, and public interiors, plants add a sense of freshness and can make everyday spaces feel more pleasant.
