In the 21st century, the wooden house by Jackson Clements Burrows Architects, Trojan House, is an Australian project that represents a modern wooden house. The wooden house has space for a young family with three children under 10. The home is unified by a timber skin. Upstairs there are three children’s rooms and a bathroom. A corridor and thermal chimney allow cross ventilation to all rooms and draw hot air out of the living spaces during summer. On-site water collection for the pool and garden provides 11,000 liters of storage. A greywater system is also included to irrigate the garden. The cladding system includes a cost-efficient sealed fiber-cement layer with timber battens.
