
CorManca solar house is located in Mexico City and offers a comfortable, sustainable alternative to conventional urban living. Designed by architect Paul Crémoux between 2012 and 2015, the house was built on a compact 176 m2 plot.

This solar three-story house uses a solar water heater and passive cross-ventilation for cooling. Its highlight is a vertical green oasis in the courtyard, planted with more than 4,000 plants. The roof adds another protective layer against the elements.

The vertical greenery absorbs about 187 kg of CO2 from the atmosphere each year. Together with the green roof, that number reaches 267 kg of CO2. The solar house project places strong emphasis on easily recyclable materials, non-VOC paint systems, and passive cooling through cross-ventilation.

The windows and facades emphasize transparency, lightness, and stability. Their main role is to bring daylight into the house. Dark natural-stone panels give the structure the impression of a heavy, monolithic concrete volume. The same panels also appear inside, where their distinctive texture creates dramatic contrasts. The living area is 540 m2.
