Their work is watched with great interest every year because it strongly influences Southern European design trends. This is visible again in 2015: Italian lighting trends quickly find imitators almost everywhere.

For several years, designers have seemed to work in close dialogue with fashion. Their pieces often follow the same broad principles that appear in furniture and interior decoration. In 2015, Milan and Madrid already offered hints of what would be popular this year: the futuristic tendency of recent seasons has moved into the background, while more expressive and romantic forms have returned. The motto for 2015 is impact. People are looking for real "eye-catchers," but they are kept within a classic style.

Exclusive lighting design could be seen in pieces that caught the eye through scale and form, yet still seemed compatible with almost any surrounding interior. These lighting fixtures, like other new furniture, suggest a return to creative work inspired by the fashion world, so novelty is once again underway. Warm, soft colors appear in many of the models. The only exception to this softer color direction is the growing role of houseplants in room concepts from the beginning. The houseplant "trend" has animated the scene for years, but it had not fully arrived in 2013. This year, however, Italian designers seem to have made it work. Many models presented by Italian designers at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne immediately placed greenery in the room. There now seems to be a fixed place for houseplants; they fit almost everywhere. Another trend is mixing materials in furniture. In recent years, pieces were often built with a preference for metal, leather, or wood, but now combinations of these elements are in demand. This is especially visible in Italian office chairs, and it is no longer just a 2013 idea.
