A modern house with natural stone facade is the latest addition to the urban landscape of Sydney, Australia. The building fascinates with a minimalist design dressed in natural materials, helping the villa fit beautifully into the landscape.

Modern villa with natural stone and glass facade creates a visual connection with nature

The modern villa is situated on a hill overlooking Sydney Harbour, an ideal location that inspired architect Jorge Hrdina’s project. On the west side, the house is screened from the road by an imposing facade of natural stone and wood facade. On the east side, however, it opens with a glass wall toward the landscape and garden. The compact building is organized as a single volume. The spatial distribution is somewhat unusual: the ground floor contains the living room and bedroom. Large sliding glass doors connect the rooms seamlessly with the garden so residents can enjoy summer weather. On the second floor, there is another living area with comfortable furniture and a bathroom.

The material palette continues inside, where stone floors and walls create a warm, comfortable environment. Wood appears everywhere: in the kitchen fronts, the dining table, dark oak elements and naturally finished shelving. Leather furniture completes the concept, creating a modern interpretation of country-house style.
