The open staircase creates a successful combination of old and new. With an old brick wall on one side and a modern glass facade on the other, the staircase blends harmoniously into the overall design of the room.

In 2015, this house was selected by the Royal Institute of British Architects as one of 23 impressive new homes in Britain and was considered for the Manser Medal. The award is given annually to an outstanding new house designed by an architect.
