We present a glamorous concrete and glass house with a modern, elegant design. Nico van der Meulen Architects designed the residence for a client with three adult children. The architect-designed concrete house sits in a private estate and opens toward the street through a glass link over a koi pond. That glazed link separates the guest wing and son’s suite from the rest of the house, while sliding and folding doors connect the family areas with the lanai, pool, and internal atrium.

Architect Nico van der Meulen faced the challenge of turning a large north-facing house into a bright and welcoming family home. The design keeps the architect-designed house open and rich in concrete, glass, and steel, while carefully shaded double-volume windows admit winter sun. The interior and exterior are seamlessly connected through large sliding and folding doors.

The plan includes a gym, a guest suite, a double garage, a lounge-study, suites for the children, generous living areas, an internal atrium, a lanai, and a pool.
