27/07/2015 – Located in the countryside near Scicli, Casa Salina is a luxury holiday residence created from the restoration of a nineteenth-century rural complex. The project was designed by Viviana Pitrolo and Francesco Puglisi.
The intervention respected the original layout of the building. Local stone masonry, high dry-stone walls and limestone paving preserve the typical character of rural architecture in the Iblean area.
The villa is enriched by a large garden shaded by carob and olive trees, and by a traditional courtyard enclosed by high dry-stone walls.
A large infinity pool near the entrance strengthens the perspective image of the property and gives the garden a more contemporary, luxurious presence.
The furniture was custom-designed and made by local craftspeople, creating a balanced contrast with the rural character of the building.
