Maza is a modern holiday home designed by CHK Arquitectura. The house is located near the lake at Valle de Bravo, Mexico, in the middle of a green landscape. It was planned as an open residential space, allowing the inhabitants to experience nature from inside as well as outside. Floor-to-ceiling windows blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, while the color palette draws attention to the majestic scenery around the house. This modern house in Mexico fully embraces nature and welcomes it indoors. On the ground floor, the spacious living area has sliding glass doors that frame the view and open directly to the terrace and lush garden.
Modern house connected with nature

The house stands on a steep hillside and is reached by a narrow bridge over a creek. Maza House was organized on three levels: a semi-basement for service areas and parking, a ground floor for social spaces such as the living and dining rooms, and an upper level for private rooms. Naturally, the rooms enjoy the best views toward the nearby lake. The levels can also be reached from outside by an exterior stair. Inside, the house feels spacious and relaxed. Each space is designed as its own scene, and as you move from one to another, changes in materials, lighting and views enrich the experience.
