30/04/2015 – In Palermo, Studio DiDeAdesigned ‘Unto’,a fast-food space, by adapting an existing architectural space to a new commercial use.
A sequence of rooms connected by doors was converted into a single space that integrates with the ground. The original appearance remains intact, with large beams crossing the various rooms, sheet metal in exposed concrete and wood, and the circulation volume on this opening.
Great importance was assigned to lighting. A sequence of spherical light points was applied along the metal volume, across the full length of the counter and above the tables.
The large openings of the room are completely open to the street, projecting the interior space outward in line with the current popularity of street food and allowing natural light to enter.
