The Winners of the Archilegno Alto Adige 2018 Prize

11/05/2018 – The second edition of the Archilegno Alto Adige 2018 Prize concluded after more than fifteen years since the first edition in 2002-2003. The initiative was organized through a collaboration between the South Tyrolean carpenters’ association and the Chamber of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of the Province of Bolzano.

Almost ninety projects were submitted and evaluated across six categories. The jury selected the following winners and mentions.

1. Private Construction
First prize ex aequo
Apartments-S, Plose, Kreuztal, Brixen, by bergmeisterwolf architekten
Casa PPP, Moena, by weber+winterle architetti

An honorable mention went to Chalet Tamersc in San Vigilio di Marebbe by EM2 Architekten.

2. Commerce, Craft And Services
First prize
Casa Riga in Comano Terme by Stefania Saracino and Franco Tagliabue Architetti.

Honorable mentions went to Camminamento in Rasun-Anterselva by Hannes Denicolò, and to the Oberholz Mountain Hut in Obereggen by Pavol Mikolajcak and Peter Pichler Architecture.

3. Public Buildings
First prize
Kindergarten in Valdaora di Sotto by feld72 Architekten.

An honorable mention went to the Casa Sociale Caltron by Mirko Franzoso.

4. Renovations, Restorations And Extensions
First prize
Veidlerhof in Santa Maddalena, Val Casies, by architect Martin Mutschlechner and stadt:Labor – Architekten.

Honorable mentions went to Haus Oberpertinger in Terento by EM2 Architekten, and to Maso Landmann in Renon by Modus Architects.

5. Protected Renovations
First prize
MMM Ripa Museum at Bruneck Castle by EM2 Architekten.

Two mentions were also assigned in this category: Gasthof Zum Riesen in Tarres by Architekturbüro Dell’Agnolo Kelderer, and Grieserhof by architect Christa Mair.

6. Structural Elements
Two mentions were awarded:
Hotel Bad Schörgau, Cooking Academy and Trehs Haus in Sarentino by Pedevilla Architects
Bus Stop Outside The Village in San Martino in Passiria by Katrin Lahner, Manfred Rauch and Thomas Tschöll.

The prizes were awarded primarily to the clients, with the jury able to extend recognition to other participants in the projects. In the category of public works, the award went to the operator of the building.
