A family of four wanted a retreat in the midst of nature and commissioned Cunniffe to design a two-story house overlooking the beautiful landscape. As a result, this modern wooden house with stone accents was created. It blends perfectly with the surrounding mountain scenery.

At the owners’ request, the Cunniffe architects opted for a minimalist design. The two-story building was constructed of stone and wood, giving the structure a stable, grounded character. Generous glass facades allow ample sunlight into the interior and provide long-distance views, so residents can enjoy the natural surroundings. A large wooden deck makes it possible to move summer life outdoors. Tall cypress and pine trees surround the wooden chalet and offer protection from winter winds.
Wooden holiday home – modern and comfortable
The wooden holiday home is extremely comfortable and luxurious. The layout is very practical: on the first floor there is a spacious lounge with a dining area and kitchen. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the second floor. The living room is clad in natural stone, giving the interiors a rustic feel. The chalet style is also impossible to miss: a large wood-burning fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere, wooden floors create a visual connection between interior and exterior, and comfortable leather furniture forms an inviting seating area. The upstairs bedrooms open onto a beautiful floor area, and the windows offer forest views. The residents clearly value privacy; there are no close neighbors.
