An elderly couple decided to move into a new apartment in the center of Stuttgart. The apartment is located in an old building with a beautiful facade. Over the years they spent together, they developed a shared passion for art and literature. Today, they are the proud owners of a collection of works of art and books. Their story inspired the architects Ippolito Fleitz, who used art as the main theme of the home decoration. They transformed the long hallway into both a gallery and a library.

Library in the hallway – creative decor ideas

The library was equipped with floor-to-ceiling shelves. Sliding doors were installed between the shelves. Small sculptures are displayed in one corner. Large dark-wood sliding doors connect the dining room and living room. In the other rooms, different areas have been clearly defined. Neutral shades, especially beige and green, dominate the interior. The apartment feels natural and combines the principles of modern interior design with classic library ideas.
