This apartment was renovated in 2010 by i29 Interior Architects for a family with two children in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The highlight is a sculptural kitchen with laser-cut cabinet fronts. The white floor-to-ceiling panels act as both storage and decoration, while the white walls and epoxy floor create a calm, serene atmosphere.
Modern apartment with an exceptional kitchen feature

The family apartment occupies the fourth and fifth floors of a building in southern Amsterdam. Its original plan, with former staff rooms, a double hall, and long corridors full of doors, was completely transformed into a spacious, light-filled home.
Modern apartment – kitchen and pure white pine panels

The laser-cut kitchen fronts are the main eye-catcher. Their abstract pattern creates a lively mix of open and closed storage, and the perforations also work as handles. The irregular openings give the white kitchen depth and movement. An atrium with open stairs brings natural light down from a large skylight. A full wall and the staircase are clad in pale pine, creating a visual connection with the furniture in the master bedroom. The bathroom uses textured tiles and carefully fitted cabinets.
