Here is a lamp to add immediately to the geek favorites list. With the project "The Great Mushrooming", a name that says plenty, Japanese designer Yukio Takano created a collection of lamps using LEDs inside synthetic mushrooms that look almost, and I do mean almost, real. The packaging is beautiful too: the battery pack is hidden in the wooden base, and the switches have a perfectly retro feel.
