The "Zen Design House" is a modern house in Tokyo, Japan, designed by RCK Style. The house follows Zen principles and creates an atmosphere of calm through pure white walls and abundant sunlight.
Modern house with Zen inspiration

This two-storey house is compact at only 120 square meters, but its rooms feel spacious and well planned. A Zen-inspired home does not mean living in empty rooms; rather, it creates a genuine sense of well-being for body and soul. This approach can also be seen in the simple square form and clean gray facade of the house.
Contemporary Zen house with symmetry and peace

Although the houses in the neighborhood stand close together, this home includes ecological features. A photovoltaic system covers part of the home’s electricity use, and the project also benefits from a subsidy from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Rainwater can be collected and reused for gardening.
Hanging seat in the room

The entrance area is very important in Japan. This is where people take off their shoes, a gesture that symbolically clears the mind and supports a relaxed atmosphere. Plaster hands on the walls welcome guests and offer them good wishes.
Unusual mural in the entrance area

The kitchen and living room are open and interconnected. Zen interior design is characterized by low furniture and straight lines. Simplicity creates harmony and tranquility, and everything superfluous is omitted. The color palette is soothing, with indoor plants providing the main touch of color.
