26/10/2012 – The study of Saint-Paul – Arthur Casas moved to the coast to sign, house, HS, an intervention in one of the most beautiful areas of Rio, Urca, with an exceptional view on the Bay of Guanabara and the sugar loaf.
The customer, a lover of art, dreamed of transforming a building from the 60s in a modern house and open to the city. The original house was severely damaged and the condition was that the possibility of a renewal of the depth and the re-imagination of the house, with a better spatial quality.
The intervention was designed to maximize the room by the walls and play with the transparency. The new interiors are full of natural light and are spacious and open. They mix with the terraces fresh air, not only in these areas, but also in the innermost parts of the house.
The construction of a new floor to transform the apartment in triplex has made it possible not only to earn more space, but also create breathtaking views of the internal cross knights and outdoor spaces, which is a measure for the house in the countryside. The new tariff is thus the Central element and, even if the most transparent, has a strong presence in the house it creates a continuous movement in inner space, to the breathtaking scenery.
An important choice was to use the design and the Brazilians which creates a connection between the modern environment and the tropical. The Spa on the third floor and has large pools sharing a transparent background. You then sit on the sofa and at the bottom, the owner can not only enjoy the views of the Bay, but the water over their heads
