Contemporary city life requires new design solutions. Many people face the same problem: how to set up a small apartment or one-room apartment without giving up the usual amenities. BEP Architects of Brazil introduced a practical living concept that fits the needs of the owners and guarantees a good quality of life in a living space of 30 sqm.
Studio apartment – ideas for optimum use of space
The small apartment in the capital Brasilia supports multifunctional activities of all kinds, from sleeping to working, within a minimum amount of space. The walls give the interior a modern look. Two of them are covered in wood, which brings warmth and comfort to the sleeping area and creates an elegant contrast with the dark floor. The space between the two walls provides additional storage.
A smart-space concept with privacy and openness at the same time
To compensate for the lack of space, BEP Architects mounted a mirror on one wall. The use of mirrors makes the small apartment appear almost twice as large. In a moment, the living area can be transformed into a comfortable bedroom. To make this possible, the designers chose flexible furniture that gives the layout freedom, such as a pull-out bed and folding pieces. The sideboard quickly transforms into a dining table. The bathroom door is cleverly “hidden” behind the woodwork. Transparent panels and chairs do not disturb the visual impression.

Intimacy and privacy were also considered. This can be seen in the harmonious combination of soft carpets and the dark tones of the wooden floor.
