Wooden house with innovative facade
M & M is a project by the architects at Studio MK27. The wooden house has a "flexible" facade: large wooden shutters open the glass front and let in plenty of light. When the owners need more privacy, they can simply close the wooden doors. The house has a simple structure and is divided into two volumes. The first axis extends in front of the pool and contains the living room, dining room, lounge, and kitchen. A roof garden connects the modern architecture with its surroundings and helps protect it from moisture. The other axis is the pool; the concrete structure is connected to the house. The two elements meet at the entrance, where a pleasant terrace is furnished with outdoor furniture.

Thanks to the creative facade, the house, built from timber, is well ventilated and stays cool even during the hot summer months typical of the Sao Paulo region. The wooden terrace divides the house into two areas. The southern part contains a garage and home theater. The northern part contains the kitchen, living room, dining room, and bedrooms. The high wooden ceilings act as a unifying element inside.
